GENERAL PURPOSE
This engineering position is responsible for supporting efforts that are focused on process improvements and retail distribution advancements within Ross. The Process Improvement Engineering Project Engineer II will identify and support improvement efforts through all stages of the basic Lean Sigma process (DMAIC, Lean, PDCA, etc.) to simplify all DC processes and reduce related costs within the Supply Chain value stream. This position also plays a key role in supporting and leading the operational readiness activities of new building start-ups and reconfigurations of existing buildings. Additional responsibilities include partnering with Network Strategy, DC Operations, and Training to provide cross functional project support. As process change ideas are implemented, the Process Improvements Engineering Engineer will also be responsible for creating/maintaining process documentation and control with DC Operations and Training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for identifying and supporting improvements efforts from initial concept through full implementation across various areas of the organization
• Supports the operational readiness activities of new building start-ups and reconfigurations of existing buildings
• Responsible for developing and conducting training as needed for the further advancement of continuous improvement within the organization (Change Management, DMAIC, Lean Sigma, etc.)
• Responsible for preparation and maintenance of engineering documentation related to new processes implemented (Best Methods, Procedures, VMGs, Control Plans, etc.).

COMPETENCIES
QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
• 2 - 4+ years related experience; retail distribution operations preferred
• Ability to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization and provide clear and concise project summaries
• Must have highly developed problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills
• Time study, work measurement, and /or data collection experience for the development of engineered labor standards with LMS experience preferred
• Must be skilled in use of Microsoft suites of Office products, specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project; Expert level preferred
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Minitab and model simulation experience preferred
• Travel up to 25% of the time in support of leading change across the DC network.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
• B.S. degree in STEM with Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred equivalent field or proven experience in engineering field
